Winemaker/Producer: Johanneshof Reinisch

Region: Thermenregion, Austria

Grape: Pinot Noir

Soil: limestone, alluvial deposits

Viticulture: Certified Organic

Winemaking: fermented in wooden vats with 10 day skin contact

Aging: in old oak barrels (3000 L) for 9 months

Tasting Notes: red fruit, spice, cedar

For Fun:  The Theremregion acquired this name, in part, from geothermal hot springs that flow under the vineyards here, contributing to favorable wine growing conditions for finicky varieties like Pinot Noir. Best known for their excellent Pinot Noir and St. Laurent, there is a particular focus at Johanneshof Reinisch on the Burgundy varieties. [Source]
