Winemaker/Producer: Colin Shirek

Region: Columbia Gorge more specifically the Underwood Mountain Vineyard

Grape: Pinot Noir

Soil: volcanic sandy clay loam

Viticulture: dry farmed

Winemaking: Barrel fermented for 9 months in neutral french oak, unfined unfiltered, bottled with 9g residual sugar, so a little refermentation in bottle has taken place lending to the slight fizz and fun mouthfeel

Aging: 2017 is the current release

Tasting Notes: strawberry shortcake, citrus pith, with a rewarding texture (tasted 1/11/2020)

For Fun: The pinot noir from this site is usually vinified red, but this was the year of the Gorge fire and the reduction in skin contact alleviate the transfer of the smoke to the wine.
